Halloween Honeymoon
Written by Christine Altmann

 One never knows when you're going to meet that bewitching someone. Somethings are secret even to witches and wizards.When Spellzandria and Battholamew each made plans to attend the Hauntoberfest festivities at Brewside Village they had no inkling that they would meet their soul mates in each other. It was a spellbinding event for them both. Spellzandria had entered the pumpkin carving contest and was concentrating on carving a spectacular Jack-O-Lantern.  Battholamew was watching the event. As the spectators filed past to pick their favorite carving and place their vote as to who should win, Spellzandria happened to glance up and locked eyes with Battholamew. It was love at first sight for both. They haven't been parted since.

 Battholamew is from a noted family of wizards and Spellzandria from a well know and respected coven. Both found it strange that they'd never met before. Battholamew is just finishing his studies in wizardry and Spellzandria has  just been inducted as a novice witch into "The Pointed Hats" coven.

 Battholamew planned his marriage proposal for weeks after having spoken to her family and receiving a resounding approval of the match. He set out to choose  the perfect place at Brewside Village were they'd met. He  spent days adorning a special spot under two twisted Hazelnut trees he'd found in a clearing in the enchanted forest that surrounds  Brewside Village.  He hung lighted Jack-O-Lanterns from the tree branches and instructed the nightingales to sing so softly and the flieflies to twinkle throughout his prospoal that evening. He practiced over and over just what to say to her during his proposal.  The evening was perfect, and so was her answer. After months of planning for the wedding to take place at Brewside Village ,on  Halloween eve of course, the day finally arrived. All of their friends and family were in happy attendance. More than one thousand witches and wizards from all four corners of the conjuring realm watched them take their vows. After wonderful food and much rejoicing the couples parents presented them with their wedding gifts. For Spellzandria a new black kitten familiar and for Battholamew  a new royal purple wizards robe with fabulous gold embroidery and a magical staff. As the couple boarded their carriage to set out on their honeymoon wild cheers erupted in celebration of the newly paired couple.Guests threw their hats into the air while shouting best wishes and congratulations.  New constellations appeared in the heavens and witches pointed their wands into the sky and glorious fireworks burst forth. As the couple drove off waving farewell, Spellzandria asked (as she had in the past) "Where are we spending our honeymoon?" Battholamew had kept the honeymoon plans a secret surprise. They were heading to Griffin Manor , isolated and eerily beautiful with a mesmerizing view of Scareborough Valley from the balcony of the honeymoon suite.  Scareborough Valley is the home of the famous Scareborough Fair . Have YOU ever been to Scareborough Fair? If not  you surely must go one day. Griffin Manor has everything a honeymooning couple could want.  Swimming in "The Boo Moon Lagoon" hiking the mountain , being waited on  by the full spirited staff 24/7  and of course privacy. This was indeed a Halloween to remember.Congratulations and  Best Wishes for many more such and  the couple wishes you all a  Happy Halloween as well.

Harassing the Jack's . It's an annual thing that the village familiars look forward to  every year. The Jack -O-Lanterns know it's coming and always try to avoid being the first to get rolled. It's not that these cats mean any harm their just filled with  Halloween mischief.  Even the little creatures hiding in the tree roots know they could be fair game for mischief night.... (wonder what they are?) These Jack-0-Lanterns will be rolled all over the village until these mischievous felines tire of their fun, or until the witches call all familiars to jump up on their brooms and accompany them on their Halloween scares. That can't happen soon enough for these Jack's then they can settle in for a relaxing evening just GLOWING..............Happy Halloween.

Escaping Ingredients: Christine Altmann

    These witches are totally engrossed in their potion. So preoccupied are they that they pay no attention to the enchanted trees who are screaming  "Pay attention  you're ingredients are  escaping".The bats are flying off to freedom, and the frogs and snakes will make sure they're nowhere in sight till these gals leave. It's a great day for these lucky creatures, but it  means another long day's hunt for the girls to find replacements. It's a happy Halloween for some.... Wishing you a

HAPPY HALLOWEEN.

Did you hear something?

Did you hear something::Christine Altmann

  These Jack-O-Lanterns thought they'd have the entire yard to themselves this Halloween and could roll to their hearts content. They were wrong! The local ghosts are always up and about, but even more so on Halloween. As these terrified Jacks huddle under the tree (who's always scared at night) they're jumping at the slightest soundand asking each other"Did you hear something?". They probably wished they stayed in their patch. I don't know,these ghosts look pretty friendly to me and probably just want to wish this group a HAPPY HALLOWEEN.  BOO!
